A young Newfoundlander is among those calling for a drop in the minimum voting age.
Benjamin Oates just turned 19 and says including more people in the democratic process is never a bad thing.
He thinks the federal government should consider lowering the minimum voting age from 18 to 16.
He says voter turnout is steadily decreasing and he believes that capturing students in that 16 to 18 year age range are still in school, still talking about politics and engaged.
