The city of Corner Brook expects to be at the table as part of the asset review of Marble Mountain.
The ski operation is a key economic driver for the region through the winter months. The province announced a few months ago that it was reviewing government assets, including NLC and Marble Mountain.
Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says under the terms of the operation of the hill, the city of Corner Brook and the town of Steady Brook are supposed to have representation on Marble Mountain’s board of directors, but that hasn’t happened for quite some time.
Meetings have taken place with the minister, and the municipalities have submitted names in hopes of having a member on the board again “very shortly.”
