The Public Utilities Board has once again adjusted the price of fuel products—but this time prices are down to reflect a big drop in the price of benchmark Brent crude.
The regulated price of gas is down by 8.6 cents a litre, while diesel is down by up to 16.3 cents. Furnace oil is down by 13.88 cents and stove oil costs 14.17 cents a litre less than it did yesterday.
There is no change in the price of propane.
Gas prices surpassed the $2.00 dollar a litre mark in most parts of province yesterday, but that didn’t last long. The benchmark Brent crude price tumbled 13 per cent on Wednesday and slipped another 2 per cent on Thursday.
The price reduction was far greater in some other provinces including Ontario where gas went down by about 15 cents a litre at midnight.
