A positive COVID test means that Mark Nichols will not be able to play with Team Gushue for the remainder of the Tim Horton’s Brier.
Team Gushue posted the news last night. The team says despite taking all the necessary precautions, Nichols tested positive for the virus. He is experiencing mild symptoms and is isolating.
The rest of the team has so far tested negative.
With no alternate, Team Gushue will continue to play but with only three players.
They lost to Team Canada’s Bottcher rink 4-3 last night and will play Saskatchewan today at 5 p.m. Newfoundland time in the 3 vs 4 game.
