The issue of taxi fares in the city of Corner Brook will be up for debate at the city’s Committee of the Whole meeting tonight.
Local cab companies have requested a temporary fuel surcharge to combat rising fuel prices.
The $2 surcharge would be in effect whenever the price of fuel exceeds $1.65 per litre.
The current price of fuel in the region is $1.86.
The proposed change will be debated in council chambers tonight at 7 p.m.
