A professional wrestler with a connection to this province has made his debut for one of the world’s largest pro wrestling companies.
Satnam Singh signed with All Elite Wrestling last year, and made his television debut for the organization Wednesday night.
Singh, the first ever Indian draft pick in NBA history, will be remembered by sports fans in this province as a member of the St. John’s Edge.
As part of that team, he made it to the NBL Canada finals in 2019.
It was through the St. John’s Edge that Singh got one of his first exposures to the world of pro wrestling, through the team’s partnership with local wrestling promotion New Evolution Wrestling.
In a post to Facebook, NEW says they’re happy to see Singh finding success in their world, and are sending him congratulations on behalf of the locker room.
