Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a warm-up shelter on the west coast.

On May 18, police received a report of a fire in the area of the Whale Back Nordic Ski Club in Cold Brook. Officers arrived to find the Pentagon Lunch Stop collapsed and burning—the structure was a complete loss.

Bay St. George RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and they’re asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

Generator Theft

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a break, enter and theft from a cabin also located in Cold Brook.

They say a number of items including a Honda 3000-watt generator, were stolen sometime over the past six weeks.

It’s unknown at this time if the incidents are connected.
