Two kayakers had to be rescued from Second Pond in the Goulds earlier today.
The two men were swamped by sudden strong gusts of wind and resulting waves.
It happened shortly before noon, with the fire department launching its water rescue team and safely bringing the men back to shore.
They were cold and treated by paramedics at the scene but otherwise none the worse for wear.
