Police are reporting a second diving-related death near Bell Island within a couple of weeks.
RCMP say a 56-year-old American tourist was diving near Lance Cove on Tuesday when he surfaced showing signs of distress, and later lost consciousness.
He was rushed to the Health Sciences Centre where he was pronounced dead.
Two weeks ago a 60-year-old Ontario man died while diving in the same area.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved in the investigations.
