Marathon Gold made a significant donation to the local community during the official grand opening of its office in Grand Falls-Windsor.

The company, which is behind the largest gold mine in all of Atlantic Canada, has pledged a total of $250,000 dollars over a three-year period to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.

The money was raised through a number of corporate and employee initiatives.
