The 55th Anniversary Coasters Tour has kicked off in St. John’s.
Classic vehicles of all makes and models lined the front of Confederation Building for the event. Government marked the occasion by signing a proclamation to declare July Automotive Heritage Month.
Included in the crowd of cars were classic Fords, Chevys, Oldsmobiles, Plymouths, even a vintage firetruck with “Old Yeller” on the front and “Old Goat” on the side.

Coordinator Fraser Field says the event takes about four years to put together, noting that this is their smallest group ever—about 100 people in 56 vehicles.
The tour itself starts today in St. John’s, with the vehicles travelling across the nation to Duncan B.C. by September.
