A timely performance is scheduled for this afternoon at Bowring Park in response to the recent US Supreme Court overturning of Roe v Wade.
PerSIStence Theatre is hosting a live performance of Jane Cawthorne’s THE ABORTION MONOLOGUES as part of a community gathering in support of abortion rights.
The gathering is in response to what’s happening in the United States and a decision that will have a dramatic impact on the lives of millions of women.
The play is based on the real-life experiences of Canadian women who tell their own stories and challenges about accessing safe abortion care.
The performance, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowering Park Cabot 500 Amphitheatre will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Nikki Baldwin of Planned Parenthood, abortion rights activist Dr. Noreen Golfman, and Registered Nurse and owner of the Athena Clinic, Rolanda Ryan.
