Police are investigating three similar armed robberies within hours of each other on Saturday, all in the northeast area of metro St. John’s.
The first occurred shortly after 8 a.m. yesterday at a business in the east end of the city, where a man demanded cash while threatening staff with a weapon, but fled on foot empty-handed.
Less than 30 minutes later, a similar scene played out at a business in Logy Bay, with the male suspect getting away with an undisclosed amount of money, again running from the scene.
A few hours later, a third armed robbery was reported back in the east end of the city, with the suspect again threatening staff with a weapon before making off with cash in hand.
The RNC did not elaborate on the weapons used or the specific businesses that were targeted.
Thus far no arrests have been made in either heist.
