The RNC believe they have located the getaway vehicle used in the removal of an ATM on Newfoundland Drive on the weekend. Police arrived at the BMO on the Coleman’s lot around 5 a.m. Sunday, but the suspect jumped in a car and took off, headed north on Torbay Road.
Officers abandoned the pursuit as the person was driving erratically, however they later located the vehicle thought to be used.
The backhoe used to gain access to the bank was left running on the bank parking lot.
The RNC has not yet arrested anyone in connection with the incident. It’s the second time a backhoe has been used on that bank, the last time was in January 2019.
Another heavy machinery robbery last night, this time at the BMO on Newfoundland Drive. It appears a loader was used to break in to the drive-up ATM machine. @VOCMNEWS pic.twitter.com/ADfj4dv6k8
