The Grand Falls-Windsor Lions Club is resuming its regular weekly Healthy Living Walks after a controversy erupted last week involving the Park Street Salvation Army Citadel.
Last week’s walk was abruptly cancelled after the church expressed concerns that the Lion’s Club had invited the local Pride Committee to join in the walk during the last week of Pride Month.
The Lion’s Club severed its partnership with the Park Street Salvation Army Citadel in search of a new partner.
This week’s walk is scheduled at Church Road Park in Grand Falls-Windsor at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Participants are asked to gather at the park gazebo. Walks will continue every Thursday evening. In the event of poor weather, the walk will move to the nearby Memorial United Church.
