A tax break provided to seniors in the capital city is being automatically extended into the 2023 tax year.
The City of St. John’s is offering a property tax reduction to seniors 65 and older and in receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement, or for those between the ages of 60 and 64 who are in receipt of the Survivor Benefit under the Old Age Security Act.
Seniors who wish to apply for the discount for the first time must provide confirmation from Service Canada and complete the city’s online application form or call 576-8251.
