Two neighbouring Paradise homes were extensively damaged by a fire this afternoon.
Crews descended on Brougham Drive mid-afternoon following a call for help.
One resident tells VOCM News they heard a loud bang, waking them up in their basement apartment.
Another neighbour described the smoke as a fog covering the area, although they were unaware of the extent of the situation until coming out of their home.
Crews used the ladder truck to access the roof of one home to check for hot spots as residents looked on in the sweltering heat.
It’s not clear if anyone was injured.
