The family of a man who is believed to have drowned late last year has started a fundraiser in his memory.
Adolfo Ferreira and his friend Michael Gill went missing during a hunting trip in central Newfoundland on Nov. 14.
They are presumed to have drowned after their boat was found overturned.
Ferreira’s girlfriend, Laura Cross, says she felt the need to honour his life in a way that would give back to the community.
She organized a motorcycle show with all proceeds going toward search and rescue.
Cross says motorcycles were one of Ferreira’s passions, and he would’ve been overjoyed to see a rally named after him.
She says his neon-coloured motorcycle and bright blue jeep were placed front and centre for the event as a symbol of his “bright and bold personality.”
