The federal government is keeping fishery enforcement personnel on the waterways for an additional four weeks.
Avalon MP Ken McDonald says DFO’s Newfoundland and Labrador Fishery Guardian Program is a key compliance strategy for the protection of inland stocks, in particular Atlantic salmon.
He says the extension ensures continuity of services through to the end of 2022.
