Walmart Canada is upgrading some of its stores.
The big-box giant will spend more than $14 million dollars to “refresh” four locations this year — in Carbonear, Clarenville, Grand Falls-Windsor and Labrador City.
Walmart Canada Regional Vice President Tom Flaim also announced that the company, with the support of customer donations, will double its contribution to Kids Eat Smart this year to $50,000 dollars.
Flaim says Walmart and Kids Eat Smart have had a long relationship, noting company employees or associates often volunteer in schools by serving meals to kids.
Almost 40,000 meals are served to school kids in the province every day, free of charge, through Kids Eat Smart.
Wal-Mart has about 2,400 employees working at 11 stores in Newfoundland and Labrador.
