A 38-year-old man is due in court today after police descended on the Shea Heights area of St. John’s yesterday.

Gary Hennessey was arrested around 2:00 yesterday afternoon on Learning Avenue.

The arrest came roughly hours after a search was launched for a man they believed was driving a stolen white Dodge Caravan.

Hennessey has a lengthy criminal history and is already facing dozens of serious charges before the courts.

RNC units were stationed at various intersections throughout Shea Heights during the incident, keeping an eye out for Hennessey and the stolen van, which sustained minor front-end damage during the incident.
