A new chemotherapy unit has officially opened at the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John’s.
The ribbon was cut to the new, spacious unit yesterday.
Beth Snow, Program Director with the provincial cancer care program, explains that their current chemo unit has space for 18 patients, while the new unit has 32.
She says the new space has several features that will help them treat specialized patients, as well as a satellite pharmacy.
Snow says having the new centre means “absolutely everything” to patients in the province.
She says the new space is very patient-focused, emphasizing how big of a day it is for patient care.
