Only one company bid on the project to reconstruct a portion of Elizabeth Avenue and build a shared-use path.
Pyramid Construction’s bid of $5.7-million is expected to be ratified by St. John’s City Council at today’s meeting.

The first phase of the reconstruction includes the stretch from Bonaventure Avenue to Westerland Road. A shared path will be installed on the university side of the street with a buffer zone between it and the road.
The city expects most, if not all, of the work to be done by November 30th. Traffic will still be permitted, but it will likely become a major slowdown zone.
