Two people from Harbour Grace charged with making and selling illegal guns and other weapons are still in custody two weeks after their arrest.
Forty-nine-year-old John Byrne and 41-year-old Crystal Chislett were arrested on June 26 after police raided a home in the Conception Bay North town.
RCMP seized dozens of handguns and long guns, a 3D printer used to make some of them, as well as ammunition, a security uniform and body armour.

Byrne and Chislett are charged with manufacturing firearms, possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage, as well as having a gun loaded and accessible. Byrne faces additional charges of fleeing from police and unauthorized possession of firearms.
He remains in jail at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary in St. John’s, while Chislett is being held at the women’s correctional centre in Clarenville while lawyers work on finalizing a plan and conditions for bail.
They’ll provide an update to the judge on those plans when the case is called again in Harbour Grace provincial court on Thursday afternoon.
