The NDP is calling on government to take mental health outcomes seriously.
Jordan Brown, the MHA for Labrador West, questions what he calls the lack of transparency regarding the final evaluation of the 54 recommendations from the Towards Recovery report for mental health services in the province.
Brown says the evaluation lacks any real evidence or data to show what steps government took to justify marking all 54 recommendations complete.
The health minister has said all of the recommended actions are substantially implemented.
Brown says mental health outcomes will not improve until government first addresses the social determinants of health such as housing needs, the high cost of food and the implementation of a guaranteed basic livable income.
