A candidate in the upcoming PC leadership vote is releasing their health care plan.
Stephenville-Port au Port MHA Tony Wakeham says his plan aims to address issues in accessing timely care.
The blueproint includes connecting every Newfoundlander and Labradorian with a primary health care provider without exception, to give people a point of contact. It also includes establishing family health care teams across the province within two years and prioritizing job offers to health care professionals at the start of their training.
Wakeham says that while the Health Accord provides a long-term vision to work towards, the province cannot afford to wait that long to address a lack of access to health care.
