Pride celebrations in the capital city are in full swing.
The 2023 St. John’s Pride Festival is officially underway, with events going every night until July 23.
A tabletop and video game event, Quadrangle and Artforce NL’s Chosen Family Dinner, and the BIPOC Panel are all taking place today.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Chair of St. John’s Pride Eddy St. Coeur, says there is great interest in this year’s Pride Parade.
He says on the high end they are looking at 2,500 people marching in the parade.
St. Coeur says the community has been overwhelmingly supportive this year.
He says one group has around 150 people marching. He says seeing how quickly the community has come together this year has been “heartwarming”.
