The RNC have laid charges of criminal harassment and causing a disturbance against a man and woman in connection with an incident July 9th in Portugal Cove-St. Philips.

The charges were laid in connection with a protest and motorcade in the area of the premier’s residence. Videos posted to social media at the time showed what appeared to be smoke flares being lit.

It’s believed to be the same group connected to a planned, but failed, protest event at Confederation Building that resulted in a counter protest of hundreds in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ rights.

The charges have not been sworn-to in court, and the names of the accused have not been formally released.
