Philips has issued a recall for its Avent Digital Video Baby Monitors due to overheating lithium-ion batteries, posing burn and fire risks.
The recall affects models SCD630 and SCD843 manufactured between March 2016 and December 2019, and urges owners to stop using them and to seek replacements.
Although no incidents have been reported in Canada, 23 cases of overheating have been noted in Europe, resulting in seven injuries.
Owners are advised to immediately discontinue use, register for a free replacement on Philips’ website, and not to redistribute the recalled product.
