A Pasadena man is facing charges in connection with a recent drug bust resulting from a traffic stop in Deer Lake.

The Joint Forces Operation West pulled over a vehicle on Gatehouse Road in Deer Lake on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police say two men inside the vehicle were arrested and a quantity of cocaine, cash and other items they say are consistent with drug trafficking were seized.

The passenger was released without charge, but the driver, 40-year-old Jason Deering was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine.

He was released to appear at a later date. The investigation continues.
