A Fire destroyed a house in Conception Bay South on the weekend, but there were no injuries.

The house was located on Minerals Road in a remote and wooded area of Long Pond, not far from the talc mines.

Fire Chief John Heffernan says the structure was fully engulfed when they arrived, so they immediately determined that it was not safe for anyone to go inside. Instead, they took a defensive approach to protect other properties including one very nearby.

The RNC Saturday night closed the road in that area, and asked people to stay away.

The file has been passed over to the RNC to try to determine the cause and circumstances.
