Bay St. George RCMP are looking for the public’s help in identifying a dirt bike driver who fled from police in Stephenville last week.

RCMP were monitoring a school zone for speeding during pick up time near Stephenville Primary on West Street around 2:30 last Wednesday afternoon.

An officer noticed a red and white Honda CF dirt bike driving on a sidewalk in front of the school during heavy traffic and with lots of people and students around.

The officer directed the dirt bike operator to an adjacent parking lot, but instead, the driver popped a wheelie and sped away.

The driver was wearing a dark jacket with a bright red hoodie underneath, grey pants, a blue helmet with neon yellow or green accents and dark goggles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
