Petro-Canada has officially marked the return of its gas bars to Newfoundland and Labrador.
North Atlantic partnered with Suncor earlier this year with a deal that would see some of the 110 North Atlantic gas stations in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and PEI switch to the Petro-Can brand.
The ribbon was cut on the revamped Kelsey Drive location today, one of four in the metro area. The others are located on Torbay Road, Water street, and the Paradise section of Kenmount Road.
Shannon Wing, General Manager of Retail Operations with Petro Canada, says while the situation is a reintroduction of the brand to the province in a retail sense, they were never fully gone.
She says their wholesale operations never ceased in this province.
David Button, President of North Sun Energy says they have spent about 18 months finalizing the process and it feels good to finally get the ball rolling, and start selling as opposed to signing.
