The town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s has brought down its municipal budget, holding the line on residential (7) and commercial (8.1) mil rates.

Water and sewer fees will also remain the same.

Major projects earmarked for the coming year include money set aside for the 2024 Killick Coast Games, the completion of splash pad facilities, upgrades to parks and the installation of trail lighting as well as the development of new trails.

A coastal outlook is also planned complete with heritage anchor.

The Guaranteed Income Supplement discount for seniors will be continued, while a community transit plan is in works along with the implementation of the town’s Accessibility Plan.
