The provincial government has plans in place to upgrade and build new infrastructure for arts, sports, and recreation as part of the provincial budget.
The budget includes $1-million for the “renewal” of the Pippy Park Campground and will include comfort stations, paving, and recreational facilities.
As well, $5-million over five years is going toward upgrades at The Rooms, $1-million for upgrades at Marble Mountain, and $8-million has been set aside for the new mid-sized theatre in St. John’s that was announced last year.
Also, $2-million is being used to create a Cultural Facility Infrastructure fund.
