A 30-year-old man is facing charges after somebody broke out the windows of a home in Bonavista with a sling shot.
Police were called after someone fired at the home with a sling shot from inside a vehicle; not just once, but twice.
The first incident occurred on Tuesday, March 28, and while a description of the vehicle was provided to police, they could not find it.
Police were called the following day after a similar incident, and this time, Tyler Linthorne was identified as the driver of the vehicle involved. Officers attempted to pull his vehicle over but instead of stopping, it sped away and police decided not to pursue. A second attempt to pull over the same vehicle later that day failed, but it was eventually found abandoned on a street in Bonavista.
Linthorne was arrested at his home, and a number of items were seized. He was charged with damage to property, two counts of dangerous driving, and flight from police.
Meanwhile, a woman who was a passenger in the vehicle when the damage occurred was also arrested. She is facing a charge of damage to property and was released to appear at a later date.
