The 35th annual St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival gets underway this week.
The event, which starts on Tuesday, features movies from filmmakers locally and over a dozen countries worldwide.
Executive Director Jenn Brown says looking at the 35-year milestone is exciting.

She says they are the longest-running women’s film festival in the country and one of the longest-running in the world, which is “pretty epic.” Brown says that longevity speaks to the level of support in the province.
