Starting tomorrow, masks will be mandatory for all visitors to health care and long-term care facilities in the province.
NL Health Services is introducing the policy in light of a surge of respiratory illness in circulation in the community and to help protect patients and those who are more vulnerable to illness.
Mandatory masking will be in place until March 31 when the policy will be re-evaluated. The health authority is asking anyone who feels ill to avoid visiting hospital or long-term care settings.
