A 76-year-old man spent the night in the lockup after a heated incident at a home in Mount Pearl.
Police were called to reports of assault over the lunch hour on Sunday. Officers spotted physical damage done to the inside of the house and took the man into custody.
He’s been charged with break and enter and assault.
The suspect and residents of the home were known to one another.
