Police in eastern Newfoundland warning of dangerous conditions on highways this afternoon.
Snow and blowing snow have been peppering the roadways throughout the day, with both Bay Roberts RCMP and Harbour Grace RCMP calling the Veterans Memorial conditions “very poor,” asking residents to stay off it if they can.
There have already been at least two incidents on the province’s roadways, including one on the TCH near Chapels Cove, where pictures posted to social media show Longs Harbour Hill lined with cars.
Earlier this morning, the Burin Peninsula highway was closed completely, as police cleared a transport truck that went into a ditch, bringing power lines with it.
The snow is expected to slow down for most areas of the province before day-break Wednesday.
The RNC have responded to several motor vehicle collisions across the Northeast Avalon in recent hours.
A mixture of rain and snow has resulted in quickly changing road conditions.
