Well-known local husband and wife duo, Corey and Trina have been reunited, with the passing of Corey Crewe on the weekend.
Crewe passed away on Saturday at the Miller Centre. He was 80 years old.
Born in Grand Bank, Crewe and his wife Trina Fulford performed across the province as a musical duo from the 1970s to the 1990s.
Among their best-known songs was The Northern Lights of Labrador, written by Trina’s brother, Don Fulford. Crewe also performed as a solo artist and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teacher in Alberta and Manitoba.
Trina passed away in 2007, after which Crewe worked to preserve their musical legacy, re-releasing their catalogue and compilations in her memory.
Visitation will be taking place at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road this Wednesday with the funeral to follow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday from Our Lady of Families Parish (formerly St. Peter’s) in Mount Pearl.
Donations in his memory are being accepted for the Miller Centre Palliative Care Centre.
