More evidence is on the way in a sexual assault case involving an American basketball player.
Twenty-nine-year-old Raekwon Holliman was charged following an incident at a downtown St. John’s hotel in late February.
Holliman spent a week in custody before being released on a number of conditions, including permission to reside in the U.S. as his case proceeds.
Police were called to the unnamed hotel around 3 a.m. on Friday, February 28th to find a woman in need of medical help.
Holliman, who was in St. John’s with the Rochester Kingz for games against the Newfoundland Rogues, was arrested later the same day.
This morning, the defence said they’re waiting for more disclosure evidence, which was confirmed by the Crown.
In fact, court was told there will be another release of disclosure to the defence next week, three months after the fact.
It’s coming in as the police get it, a Crown prosecutor told the judge.
The case will be called again on July 15th.
