The Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation has issued a tender for interior renovations to four of eight housing units damaged by fire last summer.
NLHC says an assessment of the building showed that four of the eight damaged units could be salvaged, while the other four units were torn down shortly after the fire.
The tender will cover complete interior retrofit of the surviving units including flooring, kitchen and bathroom renos, as well as plumbing and electrical upgrades.
The tender is expected to be awarded this summer with work to be completed by the winter of 2026.
Meanwhile, another tender will be issued later this summer for the construction of four new homes to replace the ones destroyed in the fire.
