A fundraising event is happening tomorrow in St. John’s in support of the mother of a young family who is dealing with an aggressive form of cancer.
After six years of infertility, Keri-Lynn Cramm and her husband, Tyler, found out they were pregnant.
But that joyous news was followed by a heartbreaking reality: Keri-Lynn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Cramm received several chemotherapy treatments and a mastectomy while she was pregnant, and delivered her baby girl in April.
However, she recently discovered that the cancer has spread to her bones and liver, and is currently undergoing treatment.
Several of Cramm’s friends have come together with an initiative to help relieve some of the financial strain on the family.
Keri-Lynn’s Walk for Courage is taking place tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. at Quidi Vidi Lake.
Organizer Erin Blackwood says that it is an emotional story, and being able to organize something to help her friend means a lot.
“Keri-Lynn’s been a friend of mine for a very long time and just knowing that she’s going through this with her family, I mean, I know no one deserves it but if you know Keri you know that she certainly does not deserve this. But, she’s taking it all in such stride and anything that I can do to help her and her family I want to do.”
