The Paul Reynolds Community Centre will remain closed for the rest of the weekend after several panels from the roof came crashing down in front of the main entrance.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. yesterday.
Photos from the scene show what appear to be three large wooden panels laying in front of the main entrance.
The city of St. John’s says they are taking the safety concerns very seriously, and are investigating the cause of the incident.
An update on the status of the building will be given on Monday.
