The 11th annual Nevaeh’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser is taking place today in Paradise.
Nevaeh Denine, a young girl with neuroblastoma, captured the hearts of people across the province after she decided to start a lemonade stand to raise money for other sick kids.
She passed away in August 2018 at the age of 9, but her memory lives on through the annual fundraiser that is put off by Nevaeh’s Angel Foundation.
Organizer Stephanie O’Brien remembers the last conversation she had with Denine before she passed.
In her last moments, she asked “but what about my lemonade stand?” O’Brien promised her that the event would go on “forever.”
The event is taking place today from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
