Soccer registration is up by over 20 per cent this year compared to last.
The NLSA saw an increase in those looking to get into soccer across all levels, amounting to about 15-thousand soccer players across the province.
NLSA Executive Director Charlie Reid says with the Olympics last year, the Summer Games this year and the North American World Cup next year – it’s led to a spike in registration.
“We see growth at all levels, not only at the youth level, but also at the youth and female levels,” he told reporters.
“It’s a world game and it’s one of the sports that has the easiest access when it comes to equipment costs.”
