There are five new inductees to the Royal St. John’s Regatta Hall of Fame.

James Carroll and Craig Whittle go in in the rower category, Dr. Peter Hollett and the Newfoundland Broadcasting Company (NTV) in the builder category, and Crosbie Industrial Services Men’s crew in the crew category.

The Presidentof the Regatta Committee, Ashley Peach, notes that given this is the Year of Sport, it is particularly poignant to celebrate this year’s inductees.

Don Kelly, Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee, says they had a lot of nominations and choosing the inductees was a difficult task for the committee.

“I’d like to thank all who took the time to do up nominations as it is not easy gathering the information to complete the form,” says Kelly.

The induction ceremony takes place Thursday, July 24 at St. John’s City Hall while the Regatta itself is July 30, a week sooner than normal because of the Canada Games.
