A handful of homes in Kilbride are in a tough spot this summer – their wells have gone dry, and most believe the installation of underground piping two years ago is the reason.
Ward 5 Councillor Carl Ridgely, who sides with the residents as to the cause of the water woes, says the construction ended in 2023, then wells began going dry the following summer. One resident says his taps went dry last Sunday.
The city has told homeowners that the construction had nothing to do with the outage, so Ridgely says they are down to two options.
He says residents have hired a hydrologist to look at the situation. The only other option is to go to take the city to court.
