A Mount Pearl man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in the city last night.
Forty-nine-year-old Colin English is also facing two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, robbery and mischief.
RNC say they responded to reports of a disturbance at a home on Michener Avenue around 9:45 to find a 72-year-old man with serious injuries.
The officers treated him on scene before he was rushed to a hospital. There’s no word on his current condition.
English was arrested at the scene and made a brief appearance in provincial court late this morning on the charges, as well as what they describe as other “historical events.”
The accused is due back in court next Wednesday.
Police say both men knew each other.
